Describe your journey with Eclipse so far

I started at Eclipse in 2019 as a trainee trader in the Sydney office where I completed Eclipse’s comprehensive training program learning about options theory and practicing trading concepts through simulated trading sessions.

Since then, I’ve worked across 3 of our offices in Australia, Hong Kong and Chicago offices, with each relocation providing me new opportunities to learn and enhance my skillset as a trader. I’ve been able to trade a variety of products across all 3 locations, while I’ve also worked with different teams from established trading desks to helping start new desks and have really enjoyed the breadth of work I’ve been able to participate in.

Why do you like working at Eclipse?

Eclipse is a firm where you’re not pigeon holed into one area, there is a lot of scope to take your strengths and use them to maximize the firms’ trading goals. For me, I’ve been able to work with the quant and integration teams and leverage my tech skills to contribute on the automation side of trading, as well as through executing our existing strategies day to day. Having exposure to many areas of the business has allowed me to be proactive and develop new tools for use in trading applications a lot faster than is possible otherwise.
