Describe your journey through Eclipse in terms of roles and responsibilities
I joined Eclipse’s Trading team as a Graduate Trader in early 2023. I underwent the traders training program in the Hong Kong office, where I learned more about options theory, Eclipse’s trading systems, and gained hands-on experience through trading simulations. I’ve since joined the China desk, trading commodity options. It has been an incredibly educational (and international!) journey — from coming from Sydney to the Hong Kong office to joining the Shanghai office more than a year later. I’ve not only gained more trading experience and product knowledge but have also been fortunate enough to meet and make new friends along the way.
Why do you like working at Eclipse?
A standout factor for me is the people and Eclipse’s flat organizational structure. On the Trading team, even as a fresh grad, I felt comfortable speaking to my peers and team lead, whether it was discussing trading decisions and strategies or simply asking some basic questions. Despite a steep learning curve, the open environment was really conducive to learning and growth, and made me feel supported along the way.
What would you say to someone considering a career at Eclipse?
I reckon if you are someone who is interested in financial markets and enjoy problem solving and thinking on your feet, then Eclipse is a great fit for you. The markets are dynamic in nature – each day will be different, and you will face various challenges and events. Navigating these unique situations daily and drawing upon your previous experiences to make better, more informed decisions each time is really rewarding.
